For the final project of my second year at the University of Cumbria, the brief was centered around creating a brand identity for a brand new television channel, "Channel 7."
In response, I produced the Armageddon Network, a satirical television channel that embraces the world today as a modern-day dystopia, and satirises everything and anything, from the current state of politics to the impending threat of nuclear war.
I also chose to ditch the "Channel 7" aspect to it, as it keeps true to the channel's anarchic tone, the idea being that the channel isn't a "number".

To produce the Armageddon Network, I created a website, https://thearmageddonist.wixsite.com/armageddonnetwork, which includes it's own news page, broadcasting schedule, a wide range of television programmes, a monthly magazine, and a promotional video comprised of news footage relating to Brexit and Donald Trump.
I also chose to create somewhat of a narrative within the network as a means to flesh out the satire a bit, adding in a few vignettes in the form of fake news articles that make fun of high-profile political figures and certain aspects of their character and personality. Certain examples include:
I also chose to create somewhat of a narrative within the network as a means to flesh out the satire a bit, adding in a few vignettes in the form of fake news articles that make fun of high-profile political figures and certain aspects of their character and personality. Certain examples include:
- Donald Trump and his claims that he will build a wall on the Mexico-United States border.
- Theresa May and her disastrous tenure as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, that has been defined by Brexit.
- Kim Jong-un and his personal struggles with his weight.
- Vladimir Putin, and his ties with Donald Trump.
As for potential television programmes, I came up with the following:
- PAX-MAN: a weekly political talk show in which the titular presenter Jeremy Paxman sits down with, and proceeds to interrogate...sorry, interview high-profile political figures about current political topics.
- My ISIS Crisis: a reality television show ("Made in Chelsea meets Four Lions") in which middle-class millennials debate on whether they should join the Islamic State or not.
- eyes in the skies: a reality television show which will constantly remind you that you are being watched, and that the government are always tracking your every move using high-tech, million-pound surveillance systems.
- The Manic Monday Show: a comedy panel show (think Mock the Week), featuring the latest events in Internet history. Expect plenty of memes, hashtags, Internet trolls and political incorrectness that will trigger the living daylights out of you.
